My boat is a Hewescraft Searunner 220, a sturdy and reliable vessel perfect for exploring Indian Arm.

What safety measures does the boat have in place?

Safety is my top priority. The boat is equipped with certified safety gear, including life jackets for all passengers, and it undergoes regular maintenance and inspections to ensure a safe journey. 

How many passengers can your boat take?

I can accommodate up to 6 passengers on the boat (or 7 including myself). Please note that children and infants count as individual passengers.

Can your boat accommodate larger groups?

Yes! Larger groups can be accommodated by scheduling separate trips at different times.

Is there a toilet on the boat?

My boat does not have a toilet. I recommend using the facilities before departure. 

Where can you pick us up?
Most taxis and tours start from Deep Cove, but I can arrange pickups from other locations. Just text or call with your trip plan, and I’ll provide a tailored quote.

Where is your area of operation?

I’m based near Twin Islands and provide service to the north end of Indian Arm, east to Rocky Point in Port Moody, and west to Coal Harbour. Please note, I don’t operate beyond Lions Gate Bridge.

Do you offer pick-up or drop-off at multiple locations?
Yes, I can arrange pick-up and drop-off at multiple locations throughout Indian Arm. Please let me know your requirements when booking.

Is there parking available in Deep Cove?

Yes, parking is available in Deep Cove, but it can be limited. When booking, I can provide advice based on your parking needs and any logistical considerations. I recommend arriving early, especially during busy seasons, to secure a spot.

Do you have a set schedule for trips?
No. Cove Boat Taxi is just me and one boat. All trips are custom-chartered upon request.

Are children allowed on the boat?
Yes, children of all ages are welcome. I provide appropriately sized life jackets to ensure their safety.

Can I bring pets on the boat?
Absolutely! pets are welcome on guided tours or taxis. Please ensure they are comfortable on the water and bring any necessary supplies for their care.

Can I bring alcohol?
For safety and insurance reasons, open alcohol is not allowed on the boat.

Are food and beverages allowed on board?
Yes, you are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages on board.

Can I bring fishing gear on the boat?
Yes, you may bring fishing gear. Please inform me in advance so I can accommodate any special requests or advise where the legal areas are for fishing up Indian Arm.

Can I bring bicycles?
Yes, I can accommodate up to 6 passengers with 6 bikes. Contact me for a customized quote.

Is the boat wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, the boat is not wheelchair accessible due to the size and design of the vessel. Please contact me to discuss specific needs.

What should I wear for my boat trip?
I recommend dressing in layers and wearing comfortable, non-slip footwear. I also suggest bring a waterproof jacket, as conditions on the water can be wet and cooler if it's not a sunny summer day.

What happens if there is bad weather on the day of my trip?
If weather conditions are unsafe, I will work with you to reschedule your trip or provide a refund, depending on your preference.

Yes, Cove Boat Taxi operates year-round, weather permitting. For trips during the winter months or in challenging weather, please contact me to confirm availability. 

When are you available?
I’m generally flexible with my operating hours. Early mornings are welcome, and I recommend trips in the morning or mid-morning for calmer waters and fewer boats.

Do you operate after dark?
Trips after dusk or before first light are available but cost double due to increased safety measures and risks.

What types of wildlife might I see on a tour?
Indian Arm is home to a variety of wildlife, you may spot seals, eagles, and occasionally even orcas or dolphins. While wildlife sightings can’t be guaranteed, they’re often a highlight of many trips. 

Do you provide guided commentary during tours?
Yes, I’m happy to point out landmarks, share insights, and answer any questions. I’m easygoing and can tailor the experience to your preferences, whether that’s providing commentary or letting you quietly take in the sights and sounds. 

Who will be on the boat if I book a tour?

If you book a tour, the boat will be reserved for you and your group - no other passengers will be added. 

Can I request a custom route for my tour?

Are private tours available for special events?

How long do the tours typically last?

What are your rates?
Flat rates are for the entire boat (up to 6 passengers) and vary based on the trip distance and duration. I have a minimum charge of $190 plus tax.

How is the trip cost calculated?
Rates are based on total time and distance, including travel to the pickup location, the tour, and the return to base.

What is the cost for a one-way boat taxi service?

What payment methods do you accept?
I prefer e-transfers but also accept most cards via Square. Receipts can be emailed upon request.

Is it possible to reduce costs?
Sharing costs with up to 6 passengers significantly lowers the price per person. Keep in mind that boats are 5–10 times less fuel-efficient than cars and have higher operating costs.

How do I book a trip?

How far in advance should I book?

It's always best to book as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time. However, if you're feeling spontaneous and I'm available, There is a chance I can make your trip happen.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund. I appreciate your consideration with this, especially during the busy season.
